The One Secret Ingredient That’s Keeping You Fat!
Are you trying to slim down and lose dress sizes? There is one little trick, I believe you should know if you want to lose weight. Without knowing this, most of your efforts will be in vain. This is something which many people are unknowingly addicted to. You are probably also eating too much of it. Do you want to know what it is? This seemingly mysterious ingredient is sugar!
Significantly reducing the amount of sugar you take can help you a lot when it comes to losing weight. Sugar, and not fat, is actually the biggest culprit that is causing you to retain fat.
When you take in foods which are high in sugar content, you will experience a blood sugar level spike, which subsequently leads to a drastic slowdown in your body’s metabolic rate. In other words, you are burning off less calories and fats when you take in foods high in sugar content.
Sugar can come from a huge variety of foods. Examples will be pasta, white rice and white bread. Also, cookies, pies and sweets also contain high levels of sugar content. Such foods will all cause your blood sugar level to spike and your metabolic rate to slow down. Actually, such sugary foods are nothing but empty calories and they cause you to gain weight extremely quickly.
However, if I can give you a piece of advice regarding sugar and dieting for fat loss, here it is – do not try to go cold turkey. If you are used to consuming sugary foods daily, suddenly and completely eliminating such foods from your diet altogether could possibly lead to fatigue and mood swings in particular. This is because sugary foods usually provide you with a lot of energy, and this sudden elimination of such foods will cause you to experience a sudden drop in energy levels. Instead, you should gradually decrease the amount of such sugary foods you take in your diet. Slowly but surely, you should remove these foods from your diet.
The following are some tips to help you achieve the above without having any side effects.
First of all, you should still eat breakfast. Ideally eliminating sugary foods does not mean that you should stop eating your breakfast! Many people make this mistake of not having their breakfast. If you add this to not taking sufficient carbohydrates or sugars, you will experience lethargy throughout your entire day. Having a nutritious and wholesome breakfast is a great idea if you want to stay healthy as well as lose weight. Eating a healthy breakfast can help control your hunger and cravings. A breakfast consisting of foods like oats or eggs and a fruit or two will do wonders for your body. Also, when you consume a meal in the morning right after you wake up, you will be able to kick start your metabolic rate.
Next of all, you should ideally add some protein into each and every meal that you take. Your body actually digests protein slower than carbohydrates and fats, keeping you full for longer periods of time. Digesting protein also requires your body to use up more energy, burning off more calories. You should seek to get your source of protein from foods like lean meats or even plant based foods.
If you always find yourself having cravings for sugary foods, then you should drink more water. Most people mistake the feeling of thirst with hunger and end up craving for foods. The next time you think you are hungry, stop, and drink a glass of water first. If you still feel hungry after 10 minutes, then you should eat a healthy snack. Otherwise, you were probably just thirsty.
